This volume includes a selection of documents on relations between the State of Israel and the People's Republic of Poland between 1945 and June 1967. Israel was established in 1948 and the first minister representing it arrived in Warsaw in September of that year. However even before the end of World War II there were subjects of common interest to the Jewish Agency, which represented the Zionist movement, and the Polish Communist groups active in the Soviet Union, which after the liberation of Poland from German occupation became part of the Polish government. Relations between these bodies became more substantial from then on until the establishment of the State of Israel.

The collection of documents ends in June 1967, with the severance of relations with Israel by Poland because of the Six Day War. It includes 435 documents, almost all in Hebrew in the original or translated from Polish. A few documents in English were also included.
